What Real People Say About Us?

Experience why Voiply has become the top-rated home phone provider, trusted by over 50,000 satisfied customers.

Voiply was able to port verizon home phone to the voip connector to my router. It took awhile to get it away from verizon but as of today it is done, and it costs about $13.79 per month, paid annually. That is a great price for a home phone.

This was the easiest transition of a phone service ever! Everything transferred right on time, received the voiply box within days, plugged it in and done! No more monthly bill from a phone company. I wish I would have known about this service years ago.

I am using the app-based service which is more than sufficient for my sole proprietorship. It is a better price fit for me than Oomla, Grasshopper, and RingCentral. Works well with my Android and my wife's iPhone (she's my secretary). I highly recommend this service for your business line needs.

Its a plug and play set up but I ran into some issues but Voiply's customer service is easy to access and they worked fast and hard to get me up and running. I kept my landline number because my mom doesn't know how to use a cellphone. But landline was costing me to much to keep. So found Voiply for home and its a great bargain. All I needed was my internet connection the Voiply dongle and my mom's cordless phone. Whats even cooler is we have voice mail and I get notifications on my cellphone when we have messages.

I love the ease of purchase, the online dashboard is transparent about services and features, the customer service has always been topnotch, and you can't beat the price! I have the landline phone for my kids too young for cell phones and it's an added safety feature should I need to call 911 as the number is tied to my physical address. Worth every penny!

Voiply people and even their BOT have been very helpful. I've had the phone equipment since March 2025 but I hadn't tried to set it up until tonight. I had to wait to get a call back, but once the call came through, a wonderful agent named Blest helped me understand how to complete the process. Thank you!

We recently switched our business landline to Voiply and had some issues after the porting process was complete. I contacted customer service, and they were able to resolve the issue quickly and get us up and running. The additional features provided by Voiply over a traditional landline phone are wonderful.

Frequently Asked Questions

Discover answers to frequently asked questions about area codes.

What is an area code?

An area code is a three-digit number that designates a particular geographic region in the telephone network from which a call originates or to which it is directed. Its purpose is to facilitate efficient and organized communication within the network.

Do different provinces have different numbers of area codes?

Certain Canadian provinces have multiple area codes, whereas others have just one.

Why do we need area codes?

Area codes play a vital role in effectively routing calls within a country, ensuring accurate delivery to the intended destination. By incorporating these codes, callers can rest assured that their connection will reach the correct location.

Can an area code give an indication of a phone number's origin?

Certainly! The area code of a phone number can provide a rough indication of the call's origin or at least the location where the number was registered.

Can I keep my area code if I move to a different province?

With Voiply, you can enjoy the convenience of keeping your phone number, even when relocating to a different province in Canada. Say goodbye to the hassle of changing numbers and keep your trusted phone number, no matter where life takes you.

How many area codes are there in Canada?

As of 2023, Canada has 40 geographic area codes and two non-geographic area codes, bringing the total number of area codes dedicated to use in Canada to 42. Additionally, Canada uses 50 area codes which are assigned to specific geographic areas plus area codes 600 and 622 which are not assigned to a geographic area.

What are non-geographic area codes?

Non-geographic area codes, such as toll-free numbers (800, 888, etc) or premium rate services (900), are not restricted to any specific geographic area. They are utilized to provide specific services, offering convenience and enhanced accessibility to users.

Are area codes unique to each city?

While it's not an absolute rule, it's common for larger cities to have their unique area codes, whereas smaller cities and regions may share an area code.

What happens when an area runs out of phone numbers within its existing area code?

When a geographic area uses up all its available phone numbers within a particular area code, a new area code is introduced in that region. This process is commonly referred to as an area code split or overlay.

How are new area codes created?

The North American Numbering Plan Administration (NANPA) creates new area codes when the existing codes in a region are expected to run out. Typically, the decision to introduce a new area code is made years in advance to ensure a smooth transition.
